Management Information Office (MIO)
The Department of Residence Life's computing services are provided by the Management Information Office (MIO). The MIO is made up of three functional teams – Computer Support Team, Network/Server Support Team and Software Development Team. The team includes 3 full time employees and 30 student employees.
- The Computer Support Team provides hardware and software support for the department as well as assist in the connection of ResNet (the internet services provided in the resident halls).
- The Network Server Support Team handles server management, system implementation, security, maintenance and all of the account creation and shared folders for the department as well as maintaining MIO's own data center.
- The Software Development team is responsible for all web development as well as the overall engineering of the myUWO Student Portal, https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/.
- The MyUWO Student Portal, which was created entirely by students for students, provides access to check Titan Card balance, monitor bandwidth, authenticate to a variety of services and systems, view a wide variety of information feeds and much more!
