Desk and Hall Procedures
The main desk provides many items and services including mail service, package pick up, games, kitchen equipment, and a change machine.
The Desk hours are:
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 9:30pm
Saturday – Sunday: Noon – 9:30pm
Outside doors will have electronic access so students will need to use their Titan ID’s to gain access to the building.
Each student will be issues two keys. That key will give them access to their main suite door, their specific bedroom, and their pantry in the 4 bedroom suite.Each student will also be issued a third key for their suite mailbox.
If a student were to misplace or damage their key, they will be able to go to the front desk during desk hours to obtain a loaner key. If they lost their key, they can go to the front desk and request a lock change. The student will be billed $125 for the lock change in a 4 bedroom suite and $90 in a 2 bedroom suite.
The CA staff will have a staff member who is on duty everyday from 8:00pm to 7:00am. If you need any help, assistance, or see any suspicious activity that you would like checked out, please call the duty phone at (920) 420-4410
Each evening at 9:30pm, the Security Station will open. This means that all residents will have to access and exit the building through the main entrance, which is located on Elmwood Ave. The residents must also check in at the Security Station desk as they enter the building. Security Station hours are as follows:
Sunday – Wednesday 9:30pm to 2:00am
Thursday – Saturday 9:30pm to 3:00am
Mail / Delivery
The mailing address for Horizon Village is: 635 Elmwood Ave. / Oshkosh, WI 54901
Mail service will be run through the front desk. Each suite will share a mailbox, which is located to the left of the front desk. The mail will be delivered daily to the hall.
Packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx and other carriers will also be delivered to the front desk. Student will receive an email notification when a package has arrived at the front desk for them. They will need to present their Titan ID to the desk worker, during desk hours, to receive their package.
Toilet paper will be provided to all residents. They may receive additional toilet paper when needed, from the front desk during desk hours, up to two rolls of toilet paper, per suite, per week.
Check-In / Check-Out
Checking in to the building
The check in process will be run through the front desk area. When a student arrives to check into the building they will need to present their Titan ID, and be prepared to fill out contact and emergency contact information.
Checking out of the building during the semester
*** The only reason that you will be checking out during the semester is if you are withdrawing from UW Oshkosh.***
If you are checking out the of building at any point during the academic year, you will need to be checked out by your CA, or another CA in the building. You must sign the checkout paperwork, and hand your keys to the CA. If you do not do this you will be charged $25 for an improper checkout. If we do not receive the keys at all you will be charged for a lock change as well.
Checking out of the building at the end of the year
At the end of the academic year there will be an Express Checkout process in place. The expectations for Express Checkout will be communicated to residents at the closing floor meeting in early May. If a student fails to follow the Express Checkout Process they could be subject to a $50 charge.
