Taylor Hall is unique because it is the only hall that offers climate-controlled (A/C) rooms and comes furnished with bed lofts. Taylor is located near the center of campus. It is a short walk to classes, Polk Library, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Reeve Union, and Blackhawk Commons. Within Taylor you will have access to a kitchen, laundry facility, study spaces in the basement, floor lounges, a big screen TV, table tennis, pool, a computer lab, and much more! The main desk provides many items including games, kitchen equipment, and a change machine.Taylor’s community is traditionally upperclassmen; however, we do house underclassmen. If you’re looking to get involved, please stop by our Hall Council meetings or one of our hall programs. We have a rich history of campus involvement and hall pride. Last year we won the Chancellor’s Cup for our extensive participation in the intramural sports program. Taylor Hall (in addition to Donner and Webster Halls) is also home to the Second Year Experience (SYE) Program . We are excited to have you be a part of our amazing community. Each wing in Taylor Hall has a Community Advisor (CA). The role of the CA is to help you in your on-campus living experience. They have been trained extensively in the areas of peer helping, university resources, planning programs and activities for you that will be fun, educational and also engage you in the hall, campus, and Oshkosh community.
Taylor also has a Senior CA who runs the front desk and works on a floor to put on variety of programs.
There is also a student Health Advocate in the building that can provide general medical information and supplies such as band aids, aspirin, and health brochures. These student staff members are there to help you have a great time, as well as make sure that the hall community is a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for you to live in. There is a Residence Hall Director (RHD) who is a professional that has earned a Master’s degree in Student Affairs or a related field. The RHD is here to supervise the staff, encourage leadership development, run the building, and make sure that you have a positive growing experience. There is also an Assistant Residence Hall Director (ARHD) who is a graduate student that assists the hall director in the day to day operations of the building along with supervising the staff.
